Abstract

Skin is the major tissue where melanocytes develop, and skin keratinocytes provide the necessary microenvironment for melanocyte survival, proliferation, differentiation, and migration. In this paper, we will discuss the ligands for receptor tyrosine kinases pro duced as environmental cues to support melanocyte development in the skin. © 2001, Elsevier Science Inc.
