Abstract

The antineoplastic activity of natural killer (NK) cells is regulated by stimulatory and inhibitory receptors.We have recently constructed a chimeric receptor sharing the specificity of NKG2D that significantly increases the cytotoxicity of NK cells against hematopoietic and solid cancer cells, but not against their normal counterparts. This receptor is expected to improve the clinical potential of NK cell-based anticancer immunotherapies. © 2013 Landes Bioscience.
