DARI LAYAR PONSEL KE HATI: MEDIA SOSIAL DAN PERAN GEN Z DALAM MEMPOPULERKAN ISU PALESTINA DI INDONESIA

Abstract

The Palestinian struggle reflects a complex conflict encompassing historical, political, and ideological dimensions. In the digital era, social media has become a platform for Generation Z to foster global solidarity through the dissemination of humanitarian issues. This descriptive qualitative study examines the role of Indonesian Generation Z in popularizing the Palestinian issue through the consumption, production, and distribution of digital content. The findings indicate that social media functions as a virtual public space that encourages active participation through posts, hashtag campaigns, and narratives of solidarity. However, disinformation, narrative bias, and slacktivism still limit the effectiveness of these digital movements. Enhancing digital literacy is essential to ensure that solidarity toward Palestine is carried out accurately and sustainably.   Perjuangan Palestina mencerminkan konflik yang kompleks dengan dimensi historis, politik, dan ideologis. Di era digital, media sosial menjadi wadah bagi generasi Z untuk membangun solidaritas global melalui penyebaran isu kemanusiaan. Penelitian pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif ini mengkaji peran generasi Z Indonesia dalam mempopulerkan isu palestia melalui konsumsi, produksi, dan distribusi konten digital. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa media sosial berfungsi sebagai ruang publik virtual yang mendorong partisipasi aktif melalui unggahan, kampanye tagar, dan narasi solidaritas. Namun, disinformasi, bias naratif, dan slacktivism masih membatasi efektivitas gerakan digital menjadi kunci agar solidaritas terhadap Palestina berlangsung secara akurat dan berkelanjutan.
