Abstract

This comprehensive text contains review articles on the most common neurological problems in which practical approaches to improve everyday patient care is provided. Clinicians as well as examination candidates should find these review helpful. The text first opens with discussions on headaches in children, dizziness, nystagmus and complications of alcoholism. The book is then broken down into 10 sections including management of epilepsy, nerve and muscle, multiple sclerosis, intracranial pressure and procedures including how to do a lumbar and cisternal puncture. Major areas of concern discuss temporal lobe epilepsy, drug-induced disorders of muscle, acute optic neuritis and giant cell arteritis. Additional papers survey subdural hematoma, lumbar canal stenosis and congenital abnormalities of the central nervous system. Photographs, tables, graphs and an index complement the text.
