Abstract
The objective of this work is to analyze Landsat-8 (Operational Land Imager – OLI sensor) and Sentinel-2 (Multispectral Instrument – MSI sensor) spectral data using different levels of processing: original data (without preprocessing), top atmosphere reflectance (TOA) and surface reflectance. For this, spectral infrared band (MSI-B8, MSI-B8A and OLI-B5) and the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) vegetation index were used for both sensors. The comparison of spectral values of the OLI and MSI sensors showed that there is a significant difference in their spectral data (infrared and NDVI), considering the original data. However, it was noticed a reduction in their differences after the respective transformations and radiometric corrections for TOA reflectance and surface reflectance. In terms of reflectance values, the MSI-B8A band is more similar to OLI-B5 than MSI-B8.
