Abstract

Herbal face packs have gained tremendous popularity in the cosmetic industry due to their natural origin, therapeutic benefits, and minimal side effects compared to synthetic formulations. These formulations combine various botanical ingredients that possess skin-nourishing, rejuvenating, and protective properties. This comprehensive review explores the historical background, formulation aspects, ingredient selection, mechanisms of action, evaluation parameters, and safety considerations of herbal face packs. The review also discusses various herbal ingredients commonly used, their phytochemical constituents, quality control measures, and regulatory aspects. Recent advances in formulation technology and future perspectives are also highlighted. This paper aims to provide researchers, formulators, and skincare professionals with detailed insights into the development and assessment of effective herbal face pack formulations
