Abstract

Selection of subjects: The study included one hundred and eight pregnant women at term aged 17 to 36 yrs residing in Nalgonda District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Reported pregnancy was confirmed on an ultra sound scan. Only those women who were pregnant for not more than 14 weeks at the time of scan were recruited.
