Abstract

The occurrence of vertigo in connexion with external pressure variations has been studied among sport divers by means of a questionary. The phenomenon, which is here called “alternobaric vertigo,” appears from this investigation to be a serious potential menace to divers. Some aetiological mechanisms and preventive or therapeutic measures which might prove important are discussed. © 1965, British Medical Journal Publishing Group. All rights reserved.
