This is a descriptive study that carries out a didactical analysis on the basis of theoretical foundations plus methodological, curricular and cultural research work performed during the elaboration of a school text in the field of Language teaching for Mapuche children carry out by universitary teachers, intercultural elementary school teachers and Mapuche cultural advisers.Three units are reviewed from the perspec-tive of sociocognitive learning theories, based on the methodological proposals in the official language curriculum, intercultural principies and the theory of social representations which makes possible to enrich the intercultural phe-nomenon studies. © 2009 Universidad Austral de Chile Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades.
