Abstract

A technique traditionally used for medical imaging is showing promise in visualizing how resin permeates glass fibre bundles in composites. Called optical tomography the technique has been developed by scientists at the National Institute of Standards andtechnology. The imaging system can be used to take high resolution images of a composite's cross section.
