¿Examen coprológico es necesario solicitar a todos los pacientes con gastroenteritis aguda? Estudio retrospectivo en el Hospital General Puyo período Enero- diciembre 2022

Abstract

Gastroenteritis is caused by viruses, bacteria, parasites, this pathology is among the frequent reasons for emergency consultation. A quantitative, descriptive, observational, non-experimental study was carried out in the Emergency Service of the Puyo General Hospital during the period 2022, with the objective of establishing the number of requests for coprological examination, antibiotic therapy and prevalence of acute gastroenteritis. This was done through the collection of information from medical records, the Varanus system and laboratory results with a total of 1974 patients. It was identified that the highest prevalence of gastroenteritis occurred in the population between 19-60 years old with 41%, in addition to 56.2% of the population with gastrointestinal infection a coprological examination was requested and the most used antibiotic is ciprofloxacinLa gastroenteritis es causadas por virus, bacterias, parásitos esta patología se encuentra entre los motivos frecuentes de consulta en emergencia. Se realizó un estudio cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo, observacional, no experimental, en el Servicio de Emergencia del Hospital General Puyo durante el periodo 2022, con el objetivo establecer la cantidad de pedidos de examen coprológico, antibiótico terapia y prevalencia de gastroenteritis aguda. Esto a través de recolección de información de historias clínicas, sistema Varanus y resultados de laboratorio con un total de 1974 pacientes. Se identificó que la mayor prevalencia de gastroenteritis se dió en la población comprendida entre 19-60 años con el 41%, además al 56,2% de la población con infección gastrointestinal se le solicitó examen coprológico además el antibiótico más utilizado es el ciprofloxacino
