Abstract

Stunting is a nutritional problem with causative factors in various sectors, such as the socio-economic sector and food security. The poverty factor is positively correlated with the incidence of stunting in under five children. Likewise, the factor of poor food security has a close relationship with the incidence of stunting. The aim is to see the description of the right food security and poverty interventions in the convergence of reducing stunting rates. The method used is a literature study with selected articles from Google Scholar and Scopus with the keywords food security, poverty, and stunting. The result from 8 of 10 articles contains about the correlation between poverty and stunting are poverty directly correlated with stunting and influences the enhancement or the reduction of stunting prevalence. The purchase power limitation in low social economic conditions causes food access limitation thus affecting household food security. Poverty reduction can be achieved through increasing household food security from social culture approach.
