Abstract

The primary objective of this review is to critically analyse and synthesise the existing evidence along the causal chain framework, linking interventions with intermediate outcomes and final impacts. It will achieve this by answering the following questions:  Review question no. 1: What is the impact of electricity access on health, education and welfare in low- and middle-income countries?  Review question no. 2: What characteristics of participants (for example, gender) and context (for example, rural or urban communities) appear to moderate effects?
