Novos registros de Nitella (Chlorophyta, Characeae) para regiões dos Estados de Mato Grosso e Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil

Abstract

As Charophyceae (Chlorophyta) representam uma classe única de algas devido à sua estrutura vegetativa e porte macroscópico dos gametângios. O inventário florístico do gênero Nitella (Characeae, Chlorophyta) nos Estados de Mato Grosso (18º55'05"S e 54º50'39"W) e Mato Grosso do Sul (19º12'03"S e 57º35'32"W), foi realizado a partir da análise espécimes provenientes dos herbários SP, HMS e CPAP e resultou na identificação, descrição e ilustração de sete espécies: Nitella acuminata, N. axillaris, N. flagellifera, N. gollmeriana, N. intermedia, N. mucronata e N. tenuissima.Charophyceae (Chlorophyta) are a unique class of algae due their vegetative structure and macroscopic gametangia. The floristic survey of the genus Nitella (Characeae, Chlorophyta) in Mato Grosso (18º55'05"S and 54º50'39"W) and Mato Grosso do Sul States (19º12'03"S and 57º35'32"W), was performed by analyzing specimens from SP, HMS and CPAP herbarium specimens, and resulted in the identification, description and illustration of seven species: Nitella acuminata, N. axillaris, N. flagellifera, N. gollmeriana, N. intermedia, N. mucronata and N. tenuissima.
