Abstract

Thoracic paravertebral block produce unilateral somatic and sympathetic nerve blockade in multiple contigouous thoracic dermatomes, which is effetive in treating acute and chronic pain of unilateral origin from the chest and abdomen. This article briefly reviews the current knowledge of this technique in both adults and children.
