Pesantren Mlangi: Poros Spiritual Intelektual Islam di Yogyakarta Abad XVIII – XIX M

Abstract

This paper aimed to discuss about Mlangi; The state of Islamic spiritual intellectual in Yogyakarta at 18-19th Century AD. Mlangi is a village located in Sleman, Yogyakarta Special Region, which is known for its many students studying in the Islamic Boarding School in Mlangi. Mlangi Islamic boarding school has existed since the 18th century and has played a major role in maintaining Islamic spiritual intellectual in the people of Yogyakarta in the 18-19 century AD until now. So that this study becomes interesting to study to find out how Mlangi became the state of Islamic intellectual-Yogyakarta Century 18-19 M. This research aims to explore the spiritual intellectual activities carried out at Mlangi in Yogyakarta in the 18-19 century AD Research this is a qualitative research with a historical approach. The results of this study revealed that Mlangi was able to become the state of Islamic spiritual intellectual in Yogyakarta at 18-19th century AD with the development of Pathok Negoro, the teaching of Islamic religion integrated between Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah creeds with the Shafi'i madzhab and accept the sunni tasawwuf, and fostering cadres of Islamic scholars and fighters.
