Abstract

Growth retardation is one of the most severe complications in children with chronic kidney disease. The low height has significant effects on the quality of life and self-confidence of patients with renal transplants. Growth after transplantation is affected by many factors: age at transplantation; degree of pre-transplantation growth deficit; kind, dosage and regimen of the immunosuppressive therapy; the function and the kind of the graft.
