Abstract

This article shows an experience of emotional education for peace applied to the practice of educational guidance, at Junior High School in Amecameca, a region in the State of Mexico. It is proposed that the counselor may acquire emotional competencies for peace and to communicate them to both students and their families, since enhancing professionalism to promote the educational center develops a space for peace that promotes inclusive, fair, equitable and non-violent education. We used the methodology of action research, taking a non-probabilistic turn, among a group of 36 professionals from the educational orientation of 13 different municipalities. According to results, the proposal allowed to transform educational practices and school realities, such as the change in classroom plan design to achieve changes in behavior. The objectives of the research were fulfilled, specifically regarding the necessary characteristics to participate in the programs of education for peace in the classrooms of the State of Mexico.
