Abstract

An amorphous two dimensional 2D-Zn++-coordinated polymeric dodeca-chloro-corenene metal-organic frameworks (Zn-aMOFs) flakes were carefully synthesized via high energy He-Ag-laser assisted hydrothermal technique. Amorphous zinc-metal organic frameworks (Zn-MOFs) was well characterized by Raman spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and 3D-atomic force microscope (3D-AFM). BET specific surface area was measured and found to be promising of ~3679m2g−1. Furthermore, the synthesized 2D-Zn-MOFs were positively tested for “CH4” and CO2-capture. 2D-Zn-MOFs exhibited high adsorption capacity of 84.6 mg CO2/g and 35.9 mg CH4/g respectively. 3D-AFM investigations confirmed that, Zn-aMOFs have surface topology with variant heights gradient that responsible for their ultrahigh BET surface area by some extent.
