Abstract

This study aims to determine the species composition and abundance of demersal fish caught on the Maro River and to know the diversity and uniformity of fish in different moon phases (new moon and full moon) in the transition season I.This research was conducted in April-May 2019 on the Maro River. A total of 98 individuals caught in the dark moon phase were 45 and 53 were obtained in the full moon phase using experimental gill nets of various size. From the catch, 14 fish species from 14 genera were collected.The diversity of demersal fish in the new and full moon phases is in the low category. The level of uniformity in the new moon phase is included in the uneven category, in the full moon phase including less uniform categories. CCA results show the physical-chemical parameters of the waters affect the distribution of demersal fish at different stations and moon phases.
