This essay examines Cain’s murder of his brother Abel in Genesis, the implications of his question “Am I my brother’s keeper?” and his exile It also considers selected historical transformations of Cain’s archetype and the relevance of his myth to the current COVID-19 pandemic Jungian theory provides a framework for the discussion
