Abstract
Objective: Determine the variables that predict the level of physical inactivity in the population between 18 and 60 years of age in Manizales, Pereira and Armenia (2012). Materials and methods: This is a cross-sectional study with phase correlation of 1,535 persons. The participants were selected through random probability sampling. The variables analyzed were age, gender, weekly practice, body mass index (BMI), hip circumference and initial heart rate. The Pérez and Rojas test was used to measure physical inactivity. Results: In all, 58.7% of the people in the sample engage in physical activity.
