Abstract

A girl aged 16 years was found to have tracheal obstruction which prevented satisfactory intubation at induction of anaesthesia for surgical correction of an idiopathic scoliosis. Subsequent radiological investigations revealed a tracheal stenosis, and an anaesthetic assessment of her upper airway was carried out before major surgery. Copyright © 1983, Wiley Blackwell.
