Abstract

Objective: The objetive of the current study is propose the kowledge management proccess at Faculty of Communication at University of Havana, based on the potential of its social capital. This in order to enhance the actions of creation and dissemination of knowledge in the Faculty and in conjunction with other entities, as well as its use and exploitation. Method: The research is descriptive-analytical with a mixed approach. Content analysis and methodological triangulation were developed as a method of analyzing the data obtained through the survey, the interview and the discussion group  The SWOT matrix was used as auxiliary tool for the diagnostic and organization of results. Result: The proposal of the knowledge management was achieved, based on the strategic planning. The work actions were drawn and were oriented to relate the general processes of the entity through organizational knowledge and the elements of social capital identified. Conclusions: The knowledge management is relevance in the context studied and the need to enhance social capital that mediates the exchange of knowledge in organizational processes. First proposal of knowledge management based on its social capital. Pioneer research in the cuban context where the two analysis variables are related in the university context.
