The city of Moscow has been actively introducing advanced technologies in the field of pollution control in real time. At the same time, Russian legislation often lags behind modern trends. The article discusses the issues of introducing reference and equivalent measurement methods and the problem of introducing small-sized instruments (low-cost sensors) for monitoring atmospheric air pollution. The article presents preliminary results of large-scale tests of low-cost sensors in comparison with traditional measurement methods, which were carried out by the State Environmental Protection Institution "Mosecomonitoring".
