Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of electroactive, high molecular weight, film-forming polyimides derived from the amino-terminated aniline trimer were studied. Three copolyimides were prepared using 4,4′-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphthalic anhydride, diamine and 4,4′-(oxydianiline) in different feed ratios. It was found that the stoichiometry of all monomers could be readily achieved by slow addition of diamine to the reaction medium upon observation of a significant increase in solution viscosity. All polymers were characterized by spectroscopic means.
