Abstract

With the rising cost of operating costs in university libraries, it is important to evaluate the performance efficiency scientifically. In the existing literature, there are few studies on quantitative analysis of multiple-input and multiple-output. This paper applies DEA model to the performance evaluation process. First, the basic principles of the DEA model are introduced. Then, take Shanghai University of Engineering Science Library as an example to evaluate the efficiencies in six years. The evaluation indicators are divided into three dimensions: circulation, education and interaction. The main factors are selected as the input and output indicators to construct the model. After calculating the efficiencies of SUES Library are analyzed. This paper can play a certain reference for the research on the performance evaluation of university libraries.
