Abstract

Strengthening the concrete and reinforced concrete structures with carbon fiber tapes is very actively applied in Europe nowadays. In Russia composites based on carbon fiber have also widely spread recently. The main advantages of these materials for strengthening structures are its high specific strength (strength-weight ratio) and strength-to-density ratio. Experimental studies on strengthening and restoration of the constructions were held. Flexible fiber concrete constructions based on man-made sand filler were used in the experiment. . Corrugated steel fiber was used as the internal reinforcement. Composite based on carbon fiber was used as the external reinforcement. The technology of the external reinforcement is given. Recommendations for strengthening the flexible fiber concrete constructions are made in the article.
