Abstract

Rabies is a viral disease that causes acute encephalitis and is usually transmitted to humans by a bite from an infected animal. It is almost invariably fatal if postexposure prophylaxis is not administered before the onset of severe symptoms. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons
