Abstract
Traditional interior design and real estate processes often require costly and time-consuming physical mock-ups to effectively visualise a space, posing a significant financial burden and inflexibility for designers, brokers and clients. Additionally, visiting properties in person involves significant travel costs and time commitments, further complicating the decision-making process. This paper proposes a mobile-based Metaverse to visualise properties without constructing a physical model or visiting the site. By leveraging affordable mobile phones, particularly in countries like India, where smartphone usage is widespread, the solution brings virtual tours closer to the general public. To overcome the challenges of a single-user mobile Virtual Reality (VR) experience, the Metaverse concept was implemented, enabling designers, brokers, and clients to work simultaneously in the same virtual space. The platform is implemented through a web application and can be accessed via a hyperlink, thus improving accessibility. More specifically, detailed and highly rendered models that run efficiently on mobile VR and have an intuitive user interface should be created for robust implementation. This paper addresses the challenges of cost reduction, collaboration, and decision-making in the fields of interior design and real estate marketing. The developed system is affordable, easily scalable, and engaging, particularly in a country like India, where cost is a significant factor.
