Exploring beliefs about water scarcity in Mexico City population

Abstract

In this research beliefs about water scarcity were analyzed using a structured interview with a sample of 54 residents of Mexico City. Responses were categorized following its content and frequency of occurrence. Results indicated that it's important to develop an environmental management of the resource, the presence of inequities in the water supply, with social affectations as a consequence, and the need for an organized action with authorities and people joined to look for problem solution to water scarcity. The reasons for conducting new analysis of this kind of environmental beliefs about water scarcity are discussed.
