Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of Jardim São Francisco, a low-income housing development in São Paulo, Brazil, using shape grammar as an analytical method. It is part of an ongoing research that aims at analyzing the different types of sitting in low-income housing developments and their consequences for public spaces. The final objective is to propose a design method that allows designing better quality urban spaces in this type of development.
