Abstract

The potassium‐sparing diuretics, triamterene and amiloride, reduced urinary magnesium excretion in conscious saline‐loaded rats. Urinary magnesium‐conservation was also detected when amiloride was used in combination with the potent ‘loop‐blocking’ diuretic, frusemide. 1981 British Pharmacological Society
