Abstract
This paper examines what constrains and what augments innovation in emerging markets, with a focus on the role of venture capital. It analyses what policy options are open to the government to facilitate innovation. To do this it looks at two country case studies: Brazil and South Africa. © Universidad Alberto Hurtado, Facultad de Economía y Negocios.
