Abstract

In our modern industrial society the causes of noise are many and varied. People feel most frequently bothered by traffic noise. In contrast, industrial noise has been considerably reduced over the years, helping to make manufacturing activity acceptable close to residential areas. Krupp is also active in noise control. Machine enclosures and noise barriers protect both plant workers and neighbouring communities.
