Abstract

Heteropod molluscs were removed from zooplankton samples collected during cruise TFMCBMSV/00 to the Selvagens Islands. A total of 48 specimens were obtained. Among the eleven species of heteropods identified, Atlanta meteori was previously regarded as an Indo-Pacific species and was recorded here for the first time from the Atlantic Ocean. The second, Atlanta selvagensis, is a new species. The species records are compared with those obtained previously from the nearby waters of the Canary Islands
