Abstract
This paper outlines the numerous publications on the training of cognitive behaviour therapists. New insight on the problem of the therapeutic alliance are proposed through the concept of collaborative relationship. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy requires the development of specific social skills and awareness of the influence of the therapist's cognitions and emotions on the therapeutic process. An update is made on the works dealing with the modification of the therapist's emotions and cognitions along the supervision process, according to the social learning and cognitive psychology principles. A three level supervision and training model, in keeping with the levels of clinical problems difficulty, is proposed.
