Abstract

Four species of Colpomenia are recorded for New Zealand: C. bullosa, C. sinuosa, C. peregrina, and C. ecuticulata sp.nov. They are distinguished by thallus shape, the shape of the reproductive sori, the presence or absence of a cuticle over the sori, and the presence or absence of pits in the medulla. Their New Zealand distributions are given, with comments on the world distribution of C. sinuosa and C. peregrina. © 1982 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
