Abstract

FM Radio is an audio transmitting device that uses radio broadcasting in forms of radio waves to reach a wide audience. However, over the past few years, a multitude of innovations were introduced to this technology that allows the radio play audio from stored memories by adding a memory storage component to radio. This feature allows manufacturers to produce radios such as the Joc Radio FM Digital al-Quran that can play stored al-Quran audio files from the radio. Radios are still widely used in Malaysia as a cheaper alternative to an MP3 or an MP4 as it operates on cheaper components. Having that said, the objective of this project is to improve the radio to better suit the technological advancement of the present. Apart from that, we also aimed to ergonomically enhance the aesthetical value of the radio without negating product sustainability. The improved design of the Joc Radio FM Digital al-Quran will be analyzed using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to prove its efficiency. The results will be used to provide a better understanding of the product for further improvements in the future.
