Las enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles y el uso de tecnologías de información y comunicación: revisión sistemática

Abstract

Introduction: The care provided to people with chronic no communicable diseases requires education and training not only to the health care team , but also to families with people living in chronicity. Here is the information and communication technology as new tools that allow easy access for the dissemination of information and thus serve as social support. This study aimed to identify the most commonly used means of communication that provide social support in the care of people with chronic non- communicable disease. Materials and Methods: Descriptive systematic review of the literature was conducted a search for articles in databases: MEDLINE, IME, LILACS, Iberoamerican Cochrane Centre, EMBASE, CUIDEN, CINAHL, BDIE in the first half of 2013. Results and Discussions: 35 potential studies, which included 23 (Articles of social support, use of information and communication technologies, chronic non- communicable diseases) were identified. An analysis of the overall results of the review are presented. Conclusions: The social support intervention in use of information and communication technologies is highly applicable in the Colombian context , is a cost effective and practical method of providing care considering that technology makes interventions more cost- effective because it reduces the need shift health professionals and caregivers, enhances the ability of the patient- caregiver dyad to access existing programs and strengthens while empowerment and self-confidence in caring technological resources.
