Abstract

The article reports on the presumptive positive Francisella tularensis blood culture associated with dog exposure. It cites on the 73 year old woman who had a pulmonary sarcoidosis and died from respiratory failure but had a laboratory test confirming she had an F. tularensis, a tier 1 select agent. The article also discusses on the human tularemia cases are reported in the United States in which humans are infected through arthropod bites.
