Abstract

Communication is the process of delivering messages by communicators to communicants through media that cause certain effects. This understanding identifies us that which includes the elements of communication are communicators, messages, media, communicants, and effects. Effective communication is communication that is able to produce attitudes (attitude change) in people involved in communication. In the social environment, the role of effective communication is very important, especially at the age of teenagers. Most juvenile delinquency is a lack of communication to parents or to their social environment which causes ineffectiveness in communicating. Parents are the front line in interacting with their teenagers and must prepare how to overcome their children's problems at a young age. The purpose of this counseling is want to know students' understanding of effective communication related to juvenile delinquency so that students are able to understand what messages are conveyed to parents. This activity is carried out in one day in April 2022. The students are students of SMK JAYA BUANA. This outreach activity is expected to be able to increase understanding of communication and be able to use effective listening and correct communication in their daily lives.
