Abstract

Using a Kr+ ion beam from a small positive-ion accelerator, we have measured the radiative lifetimes of six 5p levels of Kr+ by means of the time-of-flight technique. These levels along with their measured lifetimes and estimated uncertainties in nanoseconds are: 5p4P5 2, 7.7 ± 0.6; 5p4D3 2, 7.96 ± 0.37; 5p4D5 2, 9.48 ± 0.50; The uncertainties are sums of the computed statistical errors and estimated maximum systematic errors in beam velocity and position. © 1987.
