Abstract
Hirschsprung's disease is a congenital abnormality of the bowel that results in a loss of peristalsis. The presentation varies with age. Various methods are used to make the diagnosis, including radiologic studies (abdominal X-ray, barium enema) and rectal biopsy. In all cases of Hirschsprung disease, surgery is the definitive treatment, which achieves excellent results in most of the patients. We present the case of a 4-monthold infant with Hirschsprung disease.
