Abstract
New technological developments will allow e-government projects to make a qualitative leap. The potential of big data, automated administrative action and artificial intelligence will allow the development and provision of personalized and proactive electronic public services. In this article, the concepts of personalization and proactivity in the field of e-government are analyzed, as well as some of the tools necessary for our Public Administrations to follow that path. It deals also with regulation of data protection as a crucial feature for developing personalized public services. Finally, the requirements for these types of projects to be feasible and fruitful are listed.
