Abstract

Large area few layer graphene films are synthesized using abundantly available raw coal as an inexpensive solid carbon source via chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The few layer graphene films are uniform and continuous with over 95% transparency and sheet resistance of 5.0 kΩ sq-1. This work will provide opportunities toward economic and convenient route to synthesize graphene films that demonstrate tremendous potential in various electronics and energy storage applications. © 2013 The Electrochemical Society.
