Abstract

CSCL researchers have been investigating the use of personality traits in group formation. Despite of important contributions to this area, we have observed the lack of studies that evaluate impulsivity related to little or no reflection in collaborative context. Thus, this paper aims at evaluating the impact of high and low impulsivity when a student plays full participant role. The results obtained by a case study, developed with children aged between 09-10, showed signs that low impulsivity does not influence students performance in group interaction (hypothesis 1). Regarding high impulsivity, the hypothesis cannot be accepted or rejected.
