Abstract

Shelf life and storage temperature were studied in five aluminium hydroxide gel-adjuvanted, formaldehyde-inactivated foot and mouth disease vaccines maintained at 4C for periods of 12 to 24 months. Certain vaccines were placed in an incubator at 25C for two days. Potency was measured in guinea pigs according to the C-index method. The vaccines kept their potency beyond the normal storage period at 4C and for at least two days at 25C.
