Les infections à Pseudomonas aeruginosa au Service des Maladies Infectieuses du CHU YO, Burkina Faso: à propos deux cas

Abstract

This paper reports 2 cases of infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa: one case of meningitis and one case of urinary tract infection. The authors recall that besides the classic aetiologies for meningitis and urinary tract infection, resistant germs such as P. aeruginosa may be responsible for meningitis and urinary infections and its location must be known for effective management. Treatment of these infections require the determination of antibiotic sensitivity in view of the large capacity of P. aeruginosa resistance in hospitals. Limiting invasive procedures and the rigorous application of hospital infection control measures will help to fight effectively against these infections in health care settings.
