Abstract

seco-Macrosphelide E has been isolated from a strain of Periconia byssoides originally separated from the sea hare Aplysia kurodai. Its absolute stereostructure, with the same configuration as that of macrosphelide E, have been elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analyses and unambiguous synthesis. © 2002 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
